Protecting the Braes of the Carse
The Braes of the Carse Conservation Group has been set up to conserve the unique beauty and character of the Braes of the Carse (view map). We wish to protect the heritage, environment and communities by sharing information on proposed developments and conservation matters and wildlife and biodiversity initiatives. We comment formally to Perth and Kinross Council on long term structure plans for the areas and on any major or controversial developments and we safeguard the Perth and Kinross application in the Braes of the Carse of area of the Planning and Building Guidance better known as the "Housing in the Countryside Guidance". Following a public meeting our Constitution was adopted and a committee exisits with 2 representatives from each of the major hamlets/villages in the area.
In order for the group to represent the community fully we aim to develop strong links with other local groups such as Inchture Community Council, the Carse of Gowrie Group and Historic Orchard Forum.
We will have more influence with Perth & Kinross Council and other official groups if we can demonstrate a high degree of local support. We would therefore very much appreciate it if you could support the Group by becoming a member (there is no associated cost with becoming a member) As such you will be contacted with key updates and issues as they arise and we will canvass your views regarding major issues.
